The waterfall Gorg d’Abiss

In Tiarno di Sotto, just 6 km from Good Life Garden Hotel, you can discover the waterfall Gorg d’Abiss. Starting from the village of Tiarno di Sotto, go up the steam Massangla in a 1.5 km path that starts from the mill “Mulino dei Bugatini”, the only existing mill along the river. After a journey between the wood and the rocks, the waterfall Gorg d’Abiss (namely “vortex of the abyss”) will surprise you.

Among the unmissable activities to do in the Ledro Valley, the waterfall Gorg d’Abiss will grant you a pleasant break from the summer heat thanks to its agreeable weather.

But be careful…it is equally fascinating in winter when the waterfall freezes over!

The Varone Waterfall, between caves and gorges

In the locality of Foci in Tenno, 15km from Pieve di Ledro, the Varone Cave and Waterfall Park is situated. Varone waterfall originates from the turquoise waters of the Magnone torrent that flows below the spectacular Lake Tenno.

The watercourse crashes down into a gorge of almost 100 meters, after digging caves of calcareous rocks. Varone waterfall is a natural attraction opened in 1874 and it is one of the most popular attractions of Trentino. It is possibile to enjoy this natural spectacle thanks to bridges and walkways in the caves, until you reach the waterfall that can be visited from two sides, a lower one and an upper one. The lights that illuminate it, the majesty of the rock and the botanical garden that surround it, make this attraction magical.

Ah, don’t forget your waterproof jacket!

The Ponale Waterfall, between Ledro Valley and Lake Garda

At 18,9km from the Good Life Garden Hotel, there is one of the most popular itineraries of Trentino: the Ponale road. It is a 11 km pedestrian-cycle path, ideal for trekking and mountain bike. The Ponale trail overlooking the lake is carved into the mountain with tunnels, old forts and a breathtaking view. It is a

circular itinerary that starts from Riva del Garda, follows the Ponale stream (from which it takes its name) until it reaches Pregasina. After Ponale Alto, overtaking with a bridge the Ponale torrent and continuing on the left, you take the path that leads to the Ponale waterfall. A hidden and very charming place, unknown to most people.

From Riva del Garda it is possible to move towards the best cycle tracks of Alto Garda and Trentino region.

Nardis Waterfalls, over 130 metres high

The most impressive waterfalls of Trentino, Nardis Waterfalls, are situated in Val Genova and they are surrounded by the mountains of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. They drop for over 130 metres creating a fresh steam. The waterfalls are generated from the river Nardis that has its source in the homonymous glacier at the foot of Presanella, the highest peak of Trentino (mt. 3558). The path “Sentiero delle Cascate” goes through a wood with firs, larches, beeches and birches and it allows you to admire the amazing show of water in all its splendor.

Nardis waterfalls are not far from Pinzolo, in the municipality of Giustino, at 70 km from Pieve di Ledro. If you are a lover of adventure, a trip to Nardis waterfalls is for you!

The Vallesinella Waterfalls, three waterfalls for a unique spectacle

The Vallesinella waterfalls are situated in the intense green of the woods of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, just a short distance from Madonna di Campiglio. They group three waterfalls: upper, middle and lower (Cascate alte, Cascata di Mezzo and Cascata di Sotto). To visit them, we suggest the 11km long circular route, with 310 m of ascent, suitable for everyone. For people who don’t like walking long, it is also possible to take the shuttle bus Campiglio-Vallesinella.

If you visit the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, the Vallesinella waterfalls, about 75 km from out hotel, are an essential destination.

Every one of these attractions is surrounded by nature. For this reason, before leaving, we suggest you check the opening of the paths that lead to the waterfalls because, at certain times of the year, they might be closed for maintenance.

If you are passionate about waterfalls and if you want to make an excursion full of beauty, the Ledro Valley can be your starting point to discover these magnificent waterfalls that will delight young and old. See you soon!
