Excursions, good food and breathtaking views! You can find all this in the Ledro Valley. Don’t you believe in it? We’ll take you to Punta Larici, a fascinating view suspended between Lake Garda and the Ledro Valley!

One of the trekking routes not to be missed is the one taking to Punta Larici, a natural terrace, at 907 metres a.s.l., with a spectacular view of the lake. The path is about 8,6 km long with a difference in altitude of 640 metres and the average travel time is around 3,5-4 hours. Return by the same route.

How to get to Punta Larici: from Pieve di Ledro to Pregasina

To discover Punta Larici, you start from Pregasina, a village perched above Lake Garda at an altitude of 532 m a.s.l. It is geographically part of the Ledro Valley, but it belongs to the municipality of Riva del Garda.

Pregasina is located 11,9 km from Pieve di Ledro, where the Good Life Garden Hotel is situated, and it is easily accessible by SS240 road or following the lake up to the cycle path that leads to Pregasina.

The hiking and cycling trail

In Pregasina the starting point is the parish church of San Giorgio, in the center of the village.  Parked the car near the church, take the forest road for Palaer alm, cross the beech wood and take the path SAT 422 B that leads to the alm itself and to Punta Larici. Coming up, we recommend you to make a stop to see the statue “Regina Mundi”: behind her back you have a beautiful view over the northern end of Lake Garda with Riva, Monte Brione and Torbole. At Passo Rocchetta take the SAT 422 path towards Pregasina (walk aroud Baita Segala). Continue until the crossroads with path SAT 429, walk this path until the forest trail that leads back to Pregasina.

The trekking path, suitable for biking and walking, is not difficult but it is rather exposed in the final part, so we advise you to pay attention.

The recommended period is from March to November. However, the practicability of the routes is influenced by the conditions of the path and by ambient and meteorological changes. Before you decide to do this tour, please inform yourselves about the current conditions on site, by contacting mountain huts, Alpine guides and tourist offices.

To admire the view of Lake Garda

From Punta Larici you may enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Garda, from the northern tip with Riva del Garda, Torbole and Monte Brione, Malcesine to the southern one with Sirmione. If Lake Garda is the picture, Lake Garda landscapes, Monte Altissimo (2058 a.s.l.) and Monte Baldo, in front of Punta Larici, are its frame.

The path is easy and it has a limited exposure but we recommend you to pay attention to the sheer cliffs overlooking the top and to the strong gusts of wind.

For those who want more adventure…

On a sunny day, for really fit walkers or bikers, it is possible to start from Riva del Garda following the Ponale trail, a panoramic road that offers a wonderful view of Lake Garda, known all over the world.

In short, there’s a lot of things to do in the Ledro Valley: beaches, hiking, waterfalls, art, typical food…but you can not miss visiting Punta Larici!
