In addition to the Ponale road, in fact, the northen lake Garda offers many itineraries for bikers of each level. And if you don’t have a bike, no problem: you can rent one of our bikes!
The cycle path between the lake and the Sarca river: Arco- Riva- Torbole
You can start your bike tour from Riva del Garda and, following the cycle path Arco-Riva del Garda-Torbole, you can see the environment which turns: we go from the mountain landscape surrounded by woods of the Ledro Valley to the Mediterranean one with the scent of olive trees and the warm breeze caressing the lake, called Ora.
It is an easy asphalted road, suitable for everyone, that flows along the valley (in local dialect called Busa, namely “hole”). You can go from Riva to Arco coasting around the lake and the Sarca river if you skirt Torbole. If you love panoramic views, we advise you to walk up to Nago: in fact, from here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the lake, a view that will take your breath away.
Near the Castle: the Dro-Sarche cycle path
From the mouth of the Sarca river, in Arco, you can go inland through the Dro-Sarche cycle path. The river connects the lake to the Sarca Valley and it allows you to admire some suggestive attractions: the Arco Castle, the former Hydroelectric Power Plant of Fies and the village of Pietramurata. Bring your camera, you’ll need it!
A “work in progress” jewel: the bike and pedestrian path of Limone sul Garda
Finally, you can go towards the south-western shore of the lake through the bike and pedestrian path of Limone sul Garda, inaugurated on July 14th 2018. The 4-km trail that connects 7Trentino region to Limone is very impactful: this elevated bike path on Lake Garda offers breathtaking views. It is part of the project of the Ciclovia del Garda: a dreamy cycle path that, once completed, will allow cyclists to bike all around the ring of the lake.
It is a fascinating bike and pedestrian path that requires particular attention and it ends in correspondence to the tunnels which link Limone to Riva. Therefore, to turn back, we advise you to take the ferry or to put your bike in your car.
And finally…the cycle path around Lake Ledro!
The cycle path around the lake embraces our jewel from which it takes its name: Lake Ledro. Charming turquoise-colored lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Trentino. This path is a must if you decide to spend your vacation in the Ledro Valley: the circular route skirts the lake, passes through the villages of Pieve and Mezzolago, reaches the Pile Dwelling Museum, continues towards the southern shore (in Pur) and then enters again in Pieve. It is suitable for everyone and the view of the lake will make your ride more enjoyable.
If you are adventurous, take a mountain bike: descending from Pieve di Ledro, Molina and Pregasina, you can follow the Ponale Road, a very suggestive road which connects Ledro to Lake Garda, accompanied by a beautiful view. And from Riva del Garda there are three other cycle paths on which you can venture!
