This lake is protected because it is special. It is a natural environment that is highly attractive to children and botanical enthusiasts: rare water plants and animals, birds and amphibians live in the water of Lake Ampola.
You can explore it by walking along the footbridge that connects the wet meadow to the reed thicket, built to preserve the environment. In the summer months, the Lake Ampola Visitors’ Centre organises guided tours and educational activities for children.
A tourist destination for thousands of European tourists every year, with its lakeside villages Lake Garda is an essential place to stop during your holiday. Riva del Garda, Torbole, Malcesine and Limone are the nearest towns to us, with their characteristic Mediterranean atmospheres, historic centres of rare beauty and panoramic views of the lake.
If you want to discover two other charming lakes, head towards Lake Tenno and the village of Canale. Then continue to Castel Toblino (Toblino Castle), a small enchanting fort overlooking Lake Toblino, the setting for many contemporary films and TV fiction series.
